Love. Acceptance. Renewal.
Bangkok. No matter where you go here, you are bound to find an array of adult entertainment venues, karaoke bars, as well as massage parlors. In them, is a plethora of girls just waiting to be bought. Some forced there, some trafficked, and some by their own choosing. Regardless of their situation, these women and young girls are all looking for the same thing. Love. We, at The Scarlet Thread, call Thailand our home and the beautiful people here are our family. And just like with any family, we love them deeply.
The Scarlet Thread’s name comes from the bible story of Rahab found in Joshua 2. That story tells about a woman that chose to be a light in a dark place. She hung a red piece of thread outside her window that represented the protection of our loving Savior. Likewise, The Scarlet Thread exists to represent the love that can only come from Christ, His acceptance of us at the cross, and the renewal we experience when we put our faith and trust in Him. Just as Rahab hung that scarlet thread to protect her family, we aim to protect ours from the enemy’s grip by sharing God’s great love.
Whether out meeting girls at bars or massage parlors offering them job training or education, or ensuring that a child is able to go to school, we, at The Scarlet Thread, are striving to give Thai women and children the hope of a brighter future. We invite you to join us!
